...types: We realize hair is hard to place into categories. But here are some basic classifications with celbrity examples, that may help you decide what type of straight or curly hair you have. It is important to note that within the wavy to kinky categories, there are hair classes ranging from "A" to "C"... "C" being more curly.

Note: Using this guide when considering what and how to pick your products will help. The thickness of your hair will determine the amounts of product you need. Some of us have thick hair and may assume we are in, for example, hair class 3C, but really we are just a "thick" 3B. The best thing to do...experiment.
